Today we traveled from Paducah, KY to Lake Ouachita State Park, AR (just north of Hot Springs). One of the first road signs we saw at an exit in Missouri was not a street name but a large white square with a giant black “B” in the middle. My first thought was that it was the exit for the baseball field of a AAA team (I guess I was thinking of the “B” for the Boston Bruins... wrong sport, but it’s been hours of driving). Then we saw other signs with different letters. I pulled out the Rand McNally (thanks Candy for this road atlas...we use it every day!) and noticed that ALL of the second roads in Missouri were letters. I was fascinated by this and made poor Brian pull over so I could start taking photos of them. I stopped photographing at “Braggadocio” because you can’t get a better name than that in the middle of Missouri!
We then entered Arkansas...
... and we’ve got a beautiful tent site along the shores of Lake Ouachita.
Brian, Shea and Rowan swam to the other side of the bay in front of our site while I wrestled with the hammock.
