Bluewater Lake State Park, NM [7.9.11]

We left Amarillo this morning with a temperature of 104 degrees and arrived at Bluewater Lake State Park late this afternoon with the temperature at 57 degrees. Now we’re diggin’ where there’s taters! Our Vermont blood is enjoying the benefits of this elevation of 7,400 feet.

It was raining when we arrived so we bundled up under a shelter in the park to cook our dinner. Shea was in charge of the tofu scram.

After the rain broke we took a walk from our campsite and couldn’t resist throwing rocks from the trail, trying to hit the water below (only Brian could do it!)

Staying warm before the sunset...

.... a pretty nice view from our site...

... and now we’re psyched to snuggle up in our tents tonight!
