Bison and Badlands [8.2.11]

Custer State Park has a HUGE herd of bison. They were quite elusive in Yellowstone and Theodore Roosevelt National Parks, but not in this park. Here are some of our favorite photos:

We visited Badlands National Park today after we left Custer. This is another one of those magical places.

While driving out of the Badlands we saw this HUGE prairie dog... I couldn’t resist giving her a hug.

We passed by a billboard advertising the world’s biggest Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD. I wanted to go and check it out but the girls said “NO, WE WANT THE HOTEL ... NO MORE STOPS!”  I’m starting to think that they are getting tired of this little trip. So, we kept driving and arrived in Minnesota by late afternoon.

Tonight... clean sheets and a bed in Fairmont, MN. Ahhhhh........  :)
